About The Role

Are you passionate about fostering international collaboration though advancing global connectivity and other services for the world of research and education (R&E)? If so, we are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as an International Relations Manager based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Reporting directly to the Head of International Relations, the International Relations Manager plays a crucial role within the International Relations Team at GÉANT, a Pan-European membership organisation dedicated to serving its national R&E networking partners. In this capacity, you will oversee the planning and execution of GÉANT's International Relations activities within the EU-funded GÉANT (GN-X) project, with a focus on nurturing relationships with R&E Networks (RENs) outside Europe and facilitating collaboration on strategic initiatives. This role presents a unique opportunity to drive international collaboration within the research and education networking community, contributing to GÉANT's mission of empowering research and education with an open, innovative and trusted information ecosystem.

This is a permanent and full-time role.We’re looking for someone to work from our Amsterdam office (or alternatively our Cambridge office), so you’ll need to have the right to work in the Netherlands (or the UK) as well as live within commuting distance of the office.  This is a hybrid working role so you will need to spend at least two days in the office each week. When based in the Netherlands, the role will be offered as a one-year definite contract, with the possibility of becoming indefinite thereafter.

About You

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment and is adept at managing complex relationships. You should have a proven track record of successfully leading international projects and initiatives, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering results on time and within budget. You’ll need excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels. You should be comfortable presenting technical information to non-technical audiences and have the ability to tailor your message to different stakeholders.

Fluency in Spanish is essential for this role (and knowledge of Portuguese considered an advantage). You should also have a good understanding of the European political environment and ideally, experience or knowledge of a technical field such as networking, security or cloud services. Working Arrangements 

We have adopted a flexible-hybrid model which means that employees will work flexibly between a remote and office environment.  Weekly visits to the office are required for most employees to support our values and collaborative culture and enable our teams to deliver great work.  For this role we anticipate that you may be required in the office for around 2 days per week.
