We’re looking for a Legal Advisor (Dutch Law) to join our Legal Hub, based in Amsterdam operating in an international environment.
This role is central to providing pragmatic, in‑house legal support across the organisation. You’ll work closely with internal teams, advising on Dutch‑law matters, drafting and reviewing contracts, supporting compliance, and helping manage legal risk across a wide range of activities.
The work is varied, hands‑on, and important. From contract drafting and legal advice to governance, compliance, and dispute support, you’ll play a key role in enabling GÉANT to operate confidently and lawfully.
This role suits someone who enjoys applied legal work, values clarity and accuracy, and takes pride in delivering practical solutions rather than theoretical advice.
What You’ll Do
Legal Advice & Contracting
You’ll provide clear, pragmatic legal advice to internal stakeholders, primarily under Dutch law. This includes advising on contract interpretation, amendments, termination, liability, and dispute prevention. You’ll act as a trusted point of contact for legal queries, supporting decision‑making and reducing reliance on external counsel.
Drafting, Review & Negotiation
You’ll draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of legal documents and contracts in English under Dutch law, including agreements relating to procurement, licensing, employment, intellectual property, and data protection.
Compliance, Risk & Governance
You’ll support compliance with Dutch and EU legislation, internal policies, and governance frameworks. This includes contributing to risk management, reporting obligations, and ensuring legal alignment across organisational activities.
Disputes & Litigation Support
You’ll contribute to resolving disputes and, where required, support litigation activities, working closely with the Head of Legal and external counsel when needed.
Collaboration & Legal Operations
You’ll work closely with teams across GÉANT, providing guidance on legal processes, contributing to legal framework development, and supporting the ongoing development of in‑house legal capability.
